Selasa tanggal 15 Desember tahun 2020 telah dilakukan Soft Opening MPP (Mal Pelayanan Publik) Kota Tarakan, pada acara tersebut diresmikan langsung oleh Bapak Walikota Tarakan. Dengan dibukanya mal pelayanan publik, maka akan mempermudah pelayanan bagi masyarakat karena didalamnya mencakup berbagai pelayanan baik pelayanan instansi daerah, instansi vertikal ataupun BUMD. Untuk gedung MPP beralamat di Jalan Mulawarman yang dulunya eks gedung DPUTR.
